Realising My Photography

GFX

One of my primary interests is motorsport; I have been fortunate to have strong links to racing and am passionate about the industry. Attending various global events over several years, I captured the world of motorsport and created this showcase of my work; something I am deeply proud to present.

I first began this project way back in 2018, and have continually updated and revised it from its original print (then titled “Speed”).

I have enjoyed seeing this project grow continuously with my own photography skillset, improving and discovering new techniques to produce imagery that I am incredibly proud to showcase and share.

This project was conceived following a particularly productive period of visiting some rounds of the WEC (World Endurance Championship), where I came away with some great photos after having the opportunity to capture the back of the garages (courtesy of my brother working in the industry). I realised I had a huge backlog of great shots that I was proud of and wanted to present in a much nicer way; Enter “Speed”. My initial foray into this book. My first printed version would take some time to put together and I was proud of the result initially, but over time felt I had been very heavy-handed with some of my edits and concluded I should have been more natural with them. This coincided with me shooting even more photos that I was even more proud to showcase, and so I decided to revisit the project and produce something that evolved considerably from my first attempt.

Over 10 years of realisation

This project's design may have begun in 2018, but the photos themselves dated way back to 2013, where I began compiling the images and forming a photographic direction to my work.
